Alumni Spotlight: Jan Lund
Today we are thrilled to shine a spotlight on the incredible legacy of Jan Lund!
Jan is an alum of Abraham Lincoln High School, class of 1966. After getting her degree in education, Jan dedicated 40 years teaching French in grades 4-12 at Brownell Talbot School, Lewis Central High School, Ralston High School, and Creighton University. She also taught Methods of World Languages at UNO and offered courses in French language and culture at UNO and Metro Community College’s Continuing Education programs.
Throughout her career in education, Jan has been celebrated multiple times as Teacher of the Year. In 2006, she was recognized for her accomplishments and was inducted into the Abraham Lincoln High School Hall of Fame. Her passion for the French language and culture even earned her the highest education medal from the French government: the Order of the French Academic Palms — not once, but twice! 🏆✨
After retiring from education, Jan took on a new adventure and wrote her first novel, Sari and Cass, published in 2020.
Jan’s impact has reached far and wide, shaping generations of students and educators alike, and we’re incredibly proud to celebrate her amazing achievements!🌟
